Lycée and meeting the Mayor!

Hey all you Aussies...

I ate vegemite this morning just to be patriotic and boy did it taste good!!! A nice change from choc croissantes and brioches dipped in coffee.

Monday was my first day at Lycée Jaufré Rudel (My highschool). I have been stuck in premiere sx which is science extension (Oh God I thought I was through with chemistry). And if Mrs. McLean thinks that the chemistry we were taught at Somerville was university level then what they learn here must be like PHD material! Of course it's all in French so I just let my lab partner answer the questions cause I obviously wasn't going to be of any help! Good thing he knows what he is doing.

I sat through Histoire/Geo having absolutely no clue what the teacher was saying. My classmates are really nice though and I've made friends with a small group of girls as the class is mostly guys!

Yesterday Chihiro (a Japanese exchange student) and I were presented to the mayor's conseille of Bordeaux. The ceremony celebrates each new season of wine growing and the wine growers from the different regions of the Gironde dress up in funny little costumes, dink wine all day long and parade around the city of Bordeaux in the freezing cold! I got a little photo signed by the Mayor of Bordeaux (people here think that he could be the next president of France so he is kind of like a celebrity!).

I've included some photos of my arrival and of the ceremony yesterday.

Keep the comments coming!

Tana I can't wait to see the third season of Grey's Anatomy! Tell me what happens!!! (I think I'm suffering from major Grey's withdrawal) And people have to tell me what happens on The OC! Kym your comments are v random but much appreciated none the less. I like your style!

I miss all of you and love you heaps xxx

Lots of hugs and kisses, Phoebe.

ohmygosh how you would NEED a change from chocolate croissantes I must say I have noooooo idea :)

hehehehe you're stuck in high school.

I had to tell you...two things.
1) I was walking somewhere a day or two ago....& all of a sudden the song that goes "If I lay here.........." (you know the one, I don't know the rest hehe) came on & I broke out into the massivest smile & just walked around like an idiot thinking of you hahaha.
and number 2) I was lying in New Farm Park today coz my dance teacher's a slacker who missed our lesson and lay down on a random seat of a picnic table, felt like a bum, & proceeded to sing such songs as "If I lay here........." & "Defying Gravity" at (almost) the top of my lungs. (My voice SUCKS so it really wasn't that loud)

& that is a day in the life of me.
hehe your comment about me made me feel special. Thankyou. Bite me.

Yay I'm famous! Got a mention on Phoebe Watt's blog site! he he

Anyway, if anyone's reading this and doesn't want to know something that happens in 3rd season Greys, you'd better stop now. Here you go Pheebs...

Well don't remember if I told you this first part already but on the last episode I saw, Mark was being nasty to Adison and so Alex said something like 'he's an ass'. But Adison said something along the lines of 'well he's allowed to be this week'. And it turns out, Mark is wrecked with grief and enmity because that was the week Adison was due to give birth to his baby! But she had an abortion.

Wow!, I hear you say. Sheer genius, you mutter to yourself as you sit at you computer in the little internet cafe.

Well as I have just made your day with such delightfully intriguing news I will now leave you and will return to my more hum drum life here in Brisie. Must go shower and wash my hair - it's purple again. Don't like bathing - feels like a waste of time - and water.

Oh, was wondering if you remember if your INXS CDs are in a handy place at home. Would I be able to borrow/burn them? But only if it's somerwhere that's not too hard for your parents to find.

Ta. Well bye for now then.

Oh, also have new glasses. They are teal.

By the way, I kind of exaggerated and made Mark sound more melodramatic than he really appears in Grey'.

Tis all

Hi Phoebe,
Greetings from Sunny Singapore.
enjoying reading of your adventures, sounds like you are doing well. Uncle Cam in Paris all the time now so may get down your way. He is going again on Feb 12 for a week and then we all head to GC. Except for Kyle who is going on Tall Ship Leeuwin off W.A. for the week of Chinese New Year. He is of course looking forward to it - who wouldn't?

keep the photos coming
Love Aunty Lyd x
